You are missing the point here. These are non-exec directors. They are appointed to represent local people and to hold the Board to account. They have to reside locally.

The Consultant in Public Health etc are Executive posts, ie part of the staff of the PCT and not included in this press release.

I would like to know how many of the Board ,Executive and Non Executive members have any connection with Dorset ? Are they required to live in the county area of Dorset or indeed work in the NHS ,were they selected from local candidates , have they been treated in Dorset NHS facillities etc.,etc.,

I could not agree more,I will be visting Weymouth a bit later in the next month and this will be the first time for nearly 3 years as we used to vist every year but the since the charges have increased and they stopped the free parking for Blue badge owners (except for the High rate of DLA and not for the lower rate etc)the cost to park in Weymouth can be quite high and so this puts off people or takes the money away from the traders in the town to more visitor friendly areas,you may catch people as one a one off but will people return on a regular basis and keep paying higher charges,I have seen the decline in the Town when we came regular and it will be interesting to see if it has got better or worse.

Blame and self blame is classless. I personally wouldn't have done what these parents did, but do not blame them .They have to live with the guilt and "what if's" for the rest of their lives. I pray she is safe and abducted for adoption as opposed to the unthinkable, where surely death would be blessed relief.

Yes, actually, you do have to look after your children properly. The Portuguese authorities, whoever they may be, are not responsible. The parents were.

I guess that we shall all be over worked and stressed by the time that any of us reach retirement age, if we are allowed to retire!That premature ageing will set in, hence the Govt and Insurance companies won't have to worry aout paying us pensions any way .. so they win again ! Fight injustice I say !

Not directly related to pensions, but to wasted taxes....

How is it that hundreds of thousands of Eastern Europeans have been able to come to Britain and find work, when the millions of benefit claimants in this country seemingly cannot ?

I've never been convinced about the logic of this argument. There are many thousands of multinational companies with management teams so many times removed from the shop floor that they have no clue about what happens there. I think the real problem in the NHS is too much Labour meddling - if you left local organisations to get on with providing services without the central government requirements for statistics and monitoring, then you would get a better service. Similarly, if you weren't writing a big fat cheque for private company profits (PFI etc) from your healthcare budget you would be better off.
